Eric Ayuk and Anatole Abang Out on Loan

Midfielder Eric Ayuk has joined Jönköpings Södra IF in Sweden from Philadelphia Union it was announced this week, while forward Anatole Abang is out on loan to SJK Seinajoki from the New York Red Bulls.


Ayuk, who will be on loan for the remainder of the 2017 campaign and was the second youngest player in Philadelphia Union’s history to score a goal, joins the Swedish club as it enters its second year in the top division following its 2016 promotion.


The Union’s Sporting Director, Earnie Stewart, had this to say of the player’s move: “This move is a terrific opportunity for Eric to receive valuable first team playing time, and at a high level in Sweden’s topflight. We believe in Eric’s talent and the experience he will gain in the Allsvenskan will be helpful for his development.”


Also out on loan is Abang, who joins Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK Seinajoki) in Finland following the termination of his loan with Hobro IK in Denmark. Playing with Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho through to July 15th, the club has the option to extend the loan through 2018. Abang has scored four goals for New York Red Bulls in 25 appearances since the beginning of 2015.
