World Book Day

Today is the 21st celebration of World Book Day, a celebration of authors, illustrators and books. Celebrated in over 100 countries, the day encourages children to enjoy reading, while giving them a chance to choose a book of their own through the receipt of book tokens given to every child across the UK and Ireland.

Among those announced as World Book Day authors are Clare Balding and Julian Clary for their children’s books ‘The Girl Who Thought she was a Dog’ and ‘The Bolds’ Great Adventure’ respectively.
