James Grant is pleased to announce a new series from the Hairy Bikers, ‘Best of British’, airing on BBC2 in November. In the series, the Bikers explore the culinary heritage behind some of our best known dishes.
Si and Dave explain: “Everything we put on our plates tells us something about where we come from - from how the recipes evolved to the way in which we produced the ingredients. If you want to find out about Britain’s past, take a look at what we eat now and join us as we meet some of our nation's food heroes, who keep our gourmet heritage alive.”
The Bikers will explore the mouth-watering recipes of our past and present, such as Coronation Chicken, Kedgeree, Barnsley Chop with Cumberland Sauce and Dundee Cake. The duo also reveal the history and evolution of our favourite dishes and ingredients and, with the help of wonderful and very varied archive film, bring our national culinary heritage to life.
